SILENCE+OTHER SOUNDS

In modern audio technology, sample library plug-ins mostly aim to achieve the most realistic reproduction of a source acoustic instrument (strings, woodwinds, voices, brass etc). We believe that sampling is far more than that: rather than just focusing on realism and replicas, our philosophy is based on the idea of inventing new sounds.

We really mean it: our development process is largely based on a combination of traditional sampling and advanced synthesis, and the whole Silence+Other Sounds catalog of virtual instruments, unapologetically experimental, is mostly based on this research on sound at its rawest level. Morphed vocalisations, dual arpeggiating engines, disfigured violin sounds, custom-built horns: they are all parts of the worlds we build and make inhabitable for the curious composer.

It’s not a case if many composers and producers consider our libraries as their secret weapon.

Essentially, we research otherness: other paths, other ideas. Other sounds.

If you’re after another pack of moody textures or a conventional multi-sampled orchestral strings library, most likely you will leave this website disappointed; however, if you’re searching for the unexpected that still feels like it belongs in your music, we believe that you’ve just hit home. Welcome.
